Shoshana Bass with Fritzi’s Flea Circus

Shoshana Bass grew up touring internationally with her parents' puppet theater, Sandglass Theater. Her childhood was a mesh of acting, dancing, and circus carousing and she now enjoys performing, teaching and choreographing for all ages and venues. A deep passion in cultural dance forms took her to Senegal to study Sabar and Djembe dance, as well as traditional Indian dance. She is a graduate of Naropa University with an Interdisciplinary degree in performing arts, peace studies and tai chi, which instilled her with a faith in cultivating creativity for social action, cultural exchange and transformation.

Shoshana taught and performed with Frequent Flyers® Productions, the New England Center for Circus Arts and the Salsako dance company. She currently resides in Putney, Vermont where she is co-artistic director of Sandglass Theater, and works as a freelance performer, director and choreographer.

Shoshana serves as a board member on the national Network of Ensemble Theaters.
