Job Summary
Musica Franklin is looking for an Executive Director to shepherd our robust and vibrant organization through sustainable program growth. A track record of nonprofit administrative success is essential. Key skills include financial oversight, familiarity with data-based program evaluation, fundraising and public relations. The new executive director will oversee implementation of our strategic plan, including the process of identifying and moving to a new site to accommodate program growth.
Our ideal candidate cares deeply about music and helping our diverse student population develop skills that will serve them everywhere in life. The Executive Director will embrace our mission and vision, through honoring our core values. He, she or they will be a visionary, guiding the organization’s culture, ensuring inclusive day to day business activities that attract a diverse talent of music students, board members, and staff. The Executive Director will be full time at 32-40 hours per week.
About Us
Musica Franklin is a free El Sistema inspired after-school music ensemble program in beautiful rural Western MA that serves around 75 students annually at 2 sites. Our mission is preparing students for a brighter future through music. We are dedicated to musical excellence and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Musica Franklin has six part time staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
A track record of nonprofit administrative success is essential. The ED is responsible for planning, organizing, and the overall direction of the organization’s operations and programs. The ED also reports to Board of Directors, informing board members, community building outreach activities, including diversity equity and inclusion efforts. Our board is composed of local professionals and program parents.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Organization and leadership skills
  • Strong financial literacy and experience building a sustainable business model to support programs, people and mission.
  • Familiarity with data-based program evaluation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced fundraiser
  • Able to actively promote equity, inclusion, and social justice internally with students and staff, and externally with our community and partners.
  • Committed to valuing voices equally and fostering an environment of open communication and mutual respect in a multicultural space.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Salary is $50,000 a year plus holidays and 2 weeks paid vacation. No other benefits are offered at this time. We are willing to train the right candidate for $40,000 plus paid education credits.
